The NHS Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) is a national unit and is focused on helping the NHS become a leading sustainable and low carbon organisation.
It achieves this by working in close collaboration with health and social care organisations and with government departments. The unit produces guidance, advises on policy direction, recommends research, convenes leaders, raises awareness and develops tools and people to help steer the NHS to be a leading exemplar in public sector sustainability not only in this country but also around the world. Supporting and updating the Good Corporate Citizenship Assessment Model is one way in which the SDU helps NHS organisations make a real difference to improving their sustainability in financial, social and environmental terms. |
